Devrai Rock Dhokra

Devrai Art Village is the birth place of Devrai Rock Dhokra. In the Rock Dhokra process, stone and Brass fuse together using the lost wax technique under stringent temperature conditions to form a unified whole. The artist’s eye is apparent in the visualisation of a tangible shape around a core piece of rock. The use of sculpted stone now has given a new dimension to our Rock Dhokra creations.

ROCK DHOKRA PISTOL

“Made by our own apprentice who is now a master craftman, the pistol tells us the story of Devrai Art Village itself. We strive to provide livelihood options to tribal youth who could have been recruited by the naxalites and using the real gun”

SINGLE HORNED RHINOCEROS

The single horned Rhinoceros also finds a place on the Mohenjo-Daro seals thousands of years ago. This endemic pride of Assam, now endangered is crying out for help.
